I admire those who have acquired an expansive set of skills in the arts and use those skills to give back to communities. Ellis has done just that, collaborating on designing footwear alternatives for children and previously working as a professor at the Columbus College of Art & Design, where he taught Industrial Design for ten years.

Since discovering his personal page earlier this year, I’ve enjoyed seeing his futuristic concept designs, the unique shapes he creates, and overall style to his designs. I’ve shared several of my favorites below, so feel free to take a look and enjoy!

I finally had the pleasure of interviewing Ellis two weeks ago. We discussed the impact of collegiate teaching at University, the importance of staying engaged as creators, his exploration of illustration and industrial design, how he combined the two design types, and why failure is so great for a person’s learning curve.
